Reports To: Produce Manager
Primary Objective:
Deliver exceptional customer service within the Produce Department. Responsible for upholding standards as per the standard practice manual, enhancing sales through outstanding customer interactions, and reducing losses through effective standard practice utilization.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Foster an environment of enthusiastic customer engagement, prioritizing prompt, friendly, and precise service to ensure a positive shopping experience.
2. Be courteous and supportive to fellow associates.
3. Ensure that the processes of ordering, receiving, preparing, conditioning, and displaying merchandise adhere to company policies and guidelines.
4. Assist in unloading deliveries for the Produce Department.
5. Utilize company tools effectively, including the average cost inventory system (ACIS) and ordering system (CAO).
Compliance and Safety:
1. Maintain a thorough understanding of and adherence to company policies, guidelines, and standard practices.
2. Follow all Food Safety and Workplace Safety protocols.
3. Identify and rectify any unsafe conditions that may pose risks to associates or customers.
4. Report all incidents involving associates or customers according to established procedures.
5. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
Appearance:
Wear the company uniform, including an apron and name badge, while on duty, ensuring a neat and professional appearance in line with the company's dress code.
Training:
Successfully complete all required training modules, including Computer Based Training (CBT), Training Packet, and Training Aid courses.
Qualifications:
1. High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
2. Strong interpersonal, organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
3. Willingness and ability to learn various tasks and technical aspects of the role.
4. Ability to utilize technical information to address challenges.
5. Must meet minimum age requirements for specific job functions.
6. Capable of fulfilling the physical demands of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations.
Physical Demands:
1. Proficient in using computers and other communication systems necessary for job functions.
2. Ability to perform repetitive hand and arm movements.
3. Capable of lifting products weighing up to 15 lbs. continuously, 25 lbs. frequently, and 50 lbs. occasionally.
4. Ability to pull or push up to 75 lbs. on occasion.
5. Required to stand for the entire shift, with frequent short-distance walking.
6. Ability to handle various substances related to cleaning and packaging materials, fresh produce, house plants/flowers, and household cleaners.
7. Frequent reaching and grasping at waist level, occasionally above shoulder or below waist level.
8. Meet established performance standards for the position.
9. Tolerate working in extreme temperatures for brief periods.
