Job Overview

Position Summary:

The role involves the precise fabrication of steel components to create finished goods.

Key Responsibilities:

· Analyze project specifications, blueprints, and other written directives to execute tasks effectively.

· Safely utilize and maintain assigned tools and machinery, including but not limited to tape measures, calipers, shears, CNC burning tables, band saws, ironworkers, track burners, forklifts, overhead cranes, and personal protective equipment.

· Every employee is responsible for their safety and health and has the authority to halt work if unsafe conditions arise. Immediate notification to a supervisor is required to address hazards.

· Collaborate with the shop foreman to achieve production targets.

· Adhere to all organizational policies and procedures.

Equipment and Technology Requirements:

· Proficient in forklift operation

· Skilled in hoisting operations using magnets, clamps, and cranes

· Ability to utilize tape measures and basic hand tools

· Competence in using calipers, micrometers, squares, and protractors for part inspection

Qualifications:

  • Basic computer literacy and strong mathematical skills
  • Capability to lift 50 lbs. regularly
  • Ability to bend, twist, and squat repetitively throughout the workday
  • Proficiency in speaking, writing, reading, and understanding English
  • Visual and auditory abilities within acceptable limits, including distance and peripheral vision
  • Effective time management and prioritization skills to complete daily tasks
  • Self-motivated, as much of the workday is unsupervised
  • Minimum age of 18 years
  • Other duties as assigned by management
  • Participation in all required meetings

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Requirements:

· Safety glasses and steel-toed footwear

· Face shield, hearing protection, and additional face shield when performing deburring or grinding tasks

Work Environment Considerations:

· Employees are expected to work 40 hours per week, with potential overtime and weekend shifts based on Steelcon Inc's needs.

· Must be able to hear adequately to recognize safety concerns.

· Visual capability to read and interpret cut lists and shop drawings; safety glasses are mandatory in the shop area.

· Occasional exposure to heat, cold, wet, and humid conditions in the shop.

· Occasional exposure to fumes, odors, and dust in the work environment.

· Occasional exposure to solvents, greases, oils, and coolants.

· Compliance with all PPE requirements, including steel-toe safety shoes, hearing protection, safety glasses, gloves, and hard hats.
