Position Overview

The Registered Medical Assistant plays a vital role in the efficient operation of our healthcare facility. This position encompasses a variety of clinical and administrative responsibilities aimed at enhancing patient care and streamlining clinic workflows.

Key Responsibilities
  • Execute clinical and administrative tasks to support patient management throughout the facility.
  • Conduct standard rooming procedures, administer immunizations, injections, and medications as prescribed by healthcare providers.
  • Perform laboratory specimen collection and assist with clinic laboratory tests.
  • Provide telephone assistance and facilitate effective communication between patients and healthcare providers.
  • Support prescription refill processes and manage front desk/check-in operations.
  • Order and maintain medical supplies, ensuring the clinic is well-stocked.
  • Assist with prior authorization requests and other administrative duties as assigned.
  • Maintain proficiency in all skills outlined in the Medical Assistant scope of practice, with a commitment to continuous improvement and skill enhancement.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and clinic management to ensure high-quality patient care.
  • Adhere to corporate compliance standards and protect patient confidentiality at all times.
  • Report any compliance issues or concerns to the appropriate supervisory personnel.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in case management, phlebotomy, or hematology.
  • Proficient in data entry with at least 1 year of experience in a call center, help desk support, or telephone triage environment.
  • Experience with Allscripts ePrescribe, long-term care pharmacy, or retail pharmacy is preferred.
  • Valid Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification is required.
  • Possession of any of the following certifications is advantageous: Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Certified Medication Aide (CMA).
