We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Oncology Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant to join our team at American Oncology Network, Inc. as an Advanced Practice Provider in Oncology.
Key Responsibilities- Assist physicians in the care and teaching of patients with cancer.
- Assess the physical and psychosocial status of patients through interview, health history, physical examination, and diagnostic studies.
- Determine eligibility of patients for entry into clinical trials based on findings.
- Interpret and evaluate findings of studies/tests and relay appropriate information regarding patient care to collaborating physicians.
- Administer therapeutic measures and obtain specimens as prescribed.
- Dictate follow-up letters to referring physicians with summaries of treatment, response, and plan.
- Document and report care in an accurate and timely manner using appropriate forms and records.
- Provide on-call coverage and perform hospital rounds as needed.
- Triage patients to determine urgency of physician evaluation.
- Graduate from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician's Assistant program.
- Master's degree required.
- APRN or PA license in the appropriate state.
- Prescriptive privileges or eligible to apply.
- Current certification from ANCC or ONS (AOCN-P).
- Current BLS.
- Minimum 5 years of experience as APRN or PA, specifically in Oncology.
- Analysis & Critical Thinking: Critical thinking skills, including solid problem-solving, analysis, decision-making, planning, time management, and organizational skills.
- Interpersonal Effectiveness: Developed interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence, diplomacy, tact, conflict management, delegation skills, and diversity awareness.
- Communication Skills: Good command of the English language, effective communication skills (oral, written, presentation), and active listening.
- Customer Service & Organizational Awareness: Strong customer focus, ability to build an engaging culture of quality, performance effectiveness, and operational excellence.
- Self-Management: Effectively manages own time, conflicting priorities, self, stress, and professional development.
- Computer Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
This is a PRN position to support American Oncology Network, Inc. in Asheville, NC. The ideal candidate will be able to work effectively in a fast-paced, multi-site environment with demonstrated ability to juggle competing priorities and demands from a variety of stakeholders and sites.
