Job Summary

The Process Technologist will be responsible for developing and implementing process improvements, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and promoting professional competence within the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement product formulations, conduct product trials, and ensure adherence to quality standards.
  • Analyze operational data and trends to develop improvement plans for process, formulas, and equipment.
  • Develop, evaluate, and maintain thermal processing programs to ensure the safety and quality of food products.
  • Provide technical assistance and training to stakeholders, including customers and regulatory personnel.
  • Support deviation analyses and recommend product dispositions as needed.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and provide technical assistance to optimize thermal processes and resolve issues.
  • Investigate, troubleshoot, and design solutions to problems in equipment hardware, software, and processes.
  • Understand, monitor, and test equipment and systems.
  • Support production continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Drive continuous process improvement efforts by identifying and reducing process inefficiencies within the Engineering, R&D, and operations.
  • Comply with documentation standards, maintenance plans, and system specifications per SQF requirements.
  • Understand ingredients functionality and processability.
  • Follow all Company Safety policies and procedures.
  • Comply with established production processes per SQF requirements.
  • Maintain proper housekeeping at the job site during and at completion of tasks according to SQF Requirements.
  • Communicate daily any special needs to the R&D Manager.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in food engineering, chemical engineering, food processing, food chemistry, food science, or related discipline.
  • At least 3 years of experience in food processing, thermal processing, food engineering, or related fields.
  • Knowledge of thermal processing.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a cross-functional team.
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
  • Demonstrates pride in food processing and food manufacturing.
