Position Overview
The Division of Developmental Disabilities is seeking a dedicated individual to take on the role of Residential Services Supervisor. This position is pivotal in overseeing the personal care and treatment programs for individuals with developmental disabilities. The supervisor will actively engage in monitoring and coordinating the activities of direct care staff during assigned shifts.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and monitor programs that ensure the personal care and treatment of individuals in assigned residential settings.
- Act as a working supervisor, providing hands-on guidance and support to staff.
- Participate as a member of the Interdisciplinary Team, contributing to the development and execution of Assessment and Habilitation Plans.
- Deliver training and support to staff to ensure adherence to program protocols and daily activity schedules.
- Collect and analyze data as outlined in Individual Support Plans to ensure quality care.
- Inspect living areas to ensure safety, cleanliness, and proper maintenance of equipment.
- Complete and review necessary documentation, including incident reports and supply requisitions.
- Provide coverage for other units in the absence of their supervisors.
- Perform additional duties as assigned that align with the responsibilities of this role.
Minimum Qualifications
- Associate's Degree in health or human services or a related field.
- Two years of direct care experience in a residential care environment or supervisory experience in a similar setting.
Preferred Qualifications
- Two years of supervisory experience in a professional setting.
- Experience in assessing operational needs and effectively delegating tasks.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Experience working with individuals with physical disabilities and managing related challenges.
- Experience in quality assurance practices.
- Proven ability to mentor and train staff.
Conditions of Employment
- Ability to physically restrain individuals when necessary for safety.
- Willingness to work outside of standard business hours, including weekends and holidays.
- Proficiency in using office equipment and personal computers.
- Travel may be required as part of job duties.
- Successful completion of a background check and drug screening is mandatory.
