- Faculty Support and Training: Provide workshops and one-on-one trainings on curriculum design to faculty, ensuring they have the skills and knowledge needed to create effective online courses.
- Quality Assurance: Assist in improving the quality of our online program to meet and maintain compliance with SACS standards, ensuring our students receive a high-quality education.
- Student Retention: Develop rubrics in consultation with Deans to track adherence to department-wide academic standards and course competencies in online courses, helping to increase student retention.
- Technical Support: Provide training and support to faculty in the use of campus-related software, including D2L, Microsoft Office products, Respondus, Nearpod, and Articulate Essential.
- Student Progress Monitoring: Identify, monitor, and track at-risk online students' progress through the course management system, assisting in the collection, analyzing, and reporting of student retention data.
- Reporting and Analytics: Prepare reports as requested for The Tennessee Board of Regents, TBR, and/or SACS, providing valuable insights into student learning and program effectiveness.
- Committee Work: Serve on committees as needed/requested, contributing to the development of policies and procedures that support our online program.
- Master's Degree: A Master's degree in Instructional Design, Instruction and Curriculum Design, Instructional Technology, or a related field with an emphasis in instructional design and development.
- Experience: 1-2 years of experience in instructional design and development, preferably in higher education.
- Online Teaching Experience: Online teaching experience is highly desirable.
- Course Design Experience: Examples of course design and development are strongly encouraged.
- Master's Degree with Specialization: A Master's degree with specialization in Instructional Design, Instruction and Curriculum Design, Instructional Technology, or a related field with an emphasis in instructional design and development.
- Higher Education Experience: 1-2 years of experience in higher education instructional design and development.
- Strong Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Technical Skills: Broad knowledge of computer applications, course design and development management, and multi-media software.
- Online Pedagogy: Extensive knowledge of online pedagogy, Universal Design for Learning (UDL), and Transparency in Learning and Teaching (TILT).
- Accessibility Standards: Understanding of WCAG 2.0 and ADA accessibility standards.
- Software Proficiency: Extensive knowledge of software packages, including Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Suite, Camtasia, Respondus, Zoom, and Articulate 360.
