Position Overview:

SoFi is looking for a Staff Internal Auditor to enhance our internal audit team, reporting directly to the internal audit manager. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for executing audits and evaluations across various sectors related to SoFi Bank, N.A., SoFi Securities, and/or SoFi Technologies Inc. This position requires a hands-on approach, focusing on thorough testing of processes and controls, along with preparing documentation that aligns with departmental and professional internal audit standards. Your ability to cultivate relationships and collaborate across departments will be essential in meeting critical deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the Internal Audit team in achieving departmental goals within a collaborative environment.
  • Identify and assess risks in accordance with professional internal audit standards, plan and prioritize audit tasks, conduct interviews, observe operations, document and analyze procedures and controls, perform audit tests, prepare relevant work papers, formulate audit recommendations, discuss findings with management, and compile audit reports.
  • Conduct follow-ups on issues, including validation testing of corrective measures.
  • Assist in crafting formal reports to communicate audit outcomes to management and stakeholders.
  • Manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously while adhering to deadlines.
  • Leverage data analytics and tools in executing audit assignments.
  • Continuously enhance your knowledge of the audit profession, financial services, and technology through self-directed learning and professional development.
  • Undertake special projects and additional responsibilities as assigned.
  • Some travel may be necessary.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in accounting, finance, economics, information systems, computer science, or related fields.
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in external audit, internal audit, or a related role within a financial institution, with a solid understanding of internal controls, risk management, and consumer regulatory compliance.
  • Strong analytical skills and a persistent curiosity.
  • Familiarity with internal control frameworks, internal auditing standards, and risk assessment methodologies.
  • Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision while meeting deadlines.
  • Capability to navigate ambiguity, manage multiple projects concurrently, take ownership of assignments, and fulfill commitments.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience in preparing audit documentation, reports, and presentations.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in audit engagement planning, execution, and reporting.
  • Knowledge of examination procedures from regulatory bodies such as the FRB, OCC, FDIC, and CFPB.
  • Professional certifications (e.g., CIA, CRCM, CFE, CISA, etc.) are advantageous.
  • Interest or experience in data analytics or programming.
  • Familiarity with technologies such as Auditboard, Tableau, Snowflake, Alteryx, etc.
