Position Summary:

We are seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join our Foodbuy Accounting Team at our North America headquarters. This role presents a unique opportunity for professional development and career advancement.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the supplier and customer contract review process, ensuring accurate analysis and interpretation of financial terms.
  • Build and maintain relationships with business partners within Foodbuy and the broader Compass organization.
  • Act as a liaison between FB Accounting Close teams and Legal/Technical Accounting, communicating contractual terms effectively.
  • Manage the input, maintenance, and review of in-house contract databases, focusing on continuous improvement.
  • Support departmental initiatives aimed at enhancing controls and compliance.
  • Conduct internal reviews and audits of journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Identify and coordinate business solutions that deliver value across multiple teams.
  • Perform contract reviews to validate terms and identify potential income opportunities.
  • Assist with various audit deliverables and month-end closing tasks.
  • Complete special projects as assigned by management.
  • Provide standard and ad hoc analysis and reporting for internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
  • CPA certification or MBA is preferred.
  • 3-5 years of relevant accounting experience.
  • Proficiency in Office 365 applications, particularly Excel, Power BI, and SharePoint.
  • Experience with SAP and Essbase/Hyperion is a plus.
  • Experience in a large organization with sales exceeding $3 billion is preferred.

Skills and Abilities:
  • Strong analytical skills and a solid understanding of accounting principles.
  • Public accounting experience is preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience with legal contracts.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving capabilities.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development.
  • Collaborative team player.
  • Understanding of balance sheet processes and business flowcharting.
  • Critical thinking and self-starter mentality.
  • Ability to handle high volumes of work with quick turnaround times.
