Culinary Services Permanent Substitute

The North Reading Public Schools is in search of a Food Service Associate Permanent Substitute. This position requires availability for four (4) days each week, with responsibilities at various school locations from approximately 9:30 AM to 1:30 PM. Assignments will be determined by the Food Services Director across the five (5) schools within the district.

Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of food services and other kitchen-related tasks under the guidance of school personnel.
- Help in the preparation of both hot and cold meals.
- Serve breakfast and/or lunch to students.
- Adhere to all food safety and storage regulations.
- Follow established sanitation protocols.
- Conduct daily cleaning tasks, including dishwashing.
- Perform cashiering duties.
- Collaborate with school staff to create a positive and welcoming dining atmosphere for students and faculty.
- Work closely with the Lead Manager and other team members on a daily basis.
- Preferred: One (1) year of experience in a school cafeteria or food service environment.
- Dependable and consistent work ethic.
- Energetic and hardworking attitude.
- Ability to follow both verbal and written instructions.
- Strong teamwork skills.
- Excellent communication abilities.
- Capability to work independently.
- ServSafe certification is preferred.
- High School diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- Must have citizenship, residency, or a valid work visa.
