Job Summary

Bering Straits Native Corporation is seeking a skilled Procurement Specialist to provide procurement services for US Government Prime Contracts. This role supports multiple teams across the United States and ensures compliance with federal rules and regulations through procurement of goods and services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform day-to-day procurement functions, including requisition reviews, scope development, market research, and vendor due diligence.
  • Prepare clear and cohesive specifications, scope statements, and justifications.
  • Monitor procurement activity for regulatory compliance and process conformance.
  • Manage various procurement projects, including sourcing and commodity management.
  • Support administration of supplier assessments and scorecards.
  • Collaborate with management and contracts team members to diagnose and resolve issues with under-performing subcontractors and vendors.
  • Recognize internal and external procurement trends and recommend avenues for improvement.
  • Provide periodic reporting for management on procurement, controls, and processes.

Requirements

  • Secondary education in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance/Accounting, or related field.
  • Four years' experience as Buyer, Procurement Specialist, Contracts Administrator, or similar role.
  • Proficiency with FAR, DFARS, and Government approved purchasing systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and organizational skills.

Work Environment

The job is performed virtually with exposure to computer screens and requires extensive use of a computer, keyboard, mouse, and multi-line telephone system. Work may be performed anywhere within the contiguous US, Alaska, or Hawaii. Due to the confidential nature of contract and procurement materials, applicants must maintain a private office environment with high-speed internet.
