Restaurant General Manager Job Description

As a Restaurant General Manager at DL Rogers Corp - Sonic, you will be responsible for leading a team of employees to deliver exceptional customer service and drive sales growth. Your primary goal will be to ensure that every customer has a positive experience at our drive-in restaurant.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and train a team of employees to meet operational standards
  • Direct and assign employees to ensure all aspects of food service meet quality and efficiency standards
  • Monitor and maintain inventory levels, and place orders for food, paper, and other supplies within cost control procedures
  • Complete and maintain all employment-related records and payroll records
  • Reinforce a customer service mentality and ensure all employees are focused on serving the customer at all times
  • Immediately and respectfully resolve guest complaints and report them to your supervisor
  • Interview and hire restaurant crew and management team members to achieve proper staffing levels
  • Prepare operational reports and develop action plans to resolve unfavorable financial and sales trends

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; advanced studies in business, restaurant management, or related fields are preferred
  • Minimum of two years of restaurant management experience (QSR preferred), with experience running shifts without supervision
  • Ability to work a minimum 5-day workweek with 4 closing shifts (or 4-day workweek guaranteed) including irregular hours, nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Knowledge of recruiting, interviewing, and selection practices, as well as federal and state labor laws and local health and sanitation laws and regulations
  • Leadership and supervisory practices and skills, effective verbal and written communication skills, and basic accounting and computer skills
