Nuvance Health is a network of convenient hospital and outpatient locations, providing comprehensive care to patients in Connecticut and New York. We are seeking a skilled Patient Access Liaison to join our team at Sharon Hospital.
Key Responsibilities- Facilitate patients through the registration and scheduling process, ensuring a seamless experience.
- Obtain demographic and financial information to ensure accurate patient identification and secure payment sources.
- Perform registration functions, insurance eligibility verification, and patient liability collection.
- Provide estimates for services and receive patient financial liability payments.
- Respond to telephone calls and provide requested information to callers.
- Search and select patients within the hospital system using the Patient Identification procedure.
- Schedule appointments for services with patients directly or physician offices.
- Enter accurate and complete demographic and financial information to aid in securing payment for services rendered.
- Perform insurance eligibility verification and execute payor requirements as needed.
- Provide estimates for services and communicate with patients to solicit liability.
- High School Diploma or GED and 2 years of job-related experience.
- Associate's degree with 6 months of job-related experience preferred.
- Basic MS Excel, Outlook, Teams, and Word skills, as well as customer service and organizational skills.
- Willingness to obtain National Association of Healthcare Access Management (NAHAM) certification after one year of service.
- Significant manual skills and motor coordination.
- Some occupational risk.
- Sedentary/light effort, may exert up to 10 pounds of force.
- Generally pleasant working conditions.
