About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Fleet Mechanic to join our team at US Foods, Inc. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for the troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of our fleet of road equipment, including tractors, trailers, and refrigeration units.

Key Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with diesel equipment, including tractors, trailers, and refrigeration units.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and repairs to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Document all repair orders, PM lists, and parts accountability.
  • Handle road service calls and perform road rescue/transport equipment as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to workplace safety rules and regulations.
  • Backup to other maintenance shop personnel and assume increased responsibility and certifications as needed.
Requirements
  • 3+ years of verifiable hands-on experience as a heavy duty commercial diesel mechanic or reefer mechanic or a combination of both.
  • Diagnostic and troubleshooting competency relating to equipment repairs.
  • Ability to read and understand technical and service manuals.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work with co-workers and drivers.
  • Ability to manage multiple functions simultaneously in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
