Position Summary: The Clinical Laboratory Specialist is responsible for conducting routine and specialized diagnostic tests and laboratory procedures across various sections of the Clinical Laboratory. This role ensures that all tasks are performed in a timely, precise, and dependable manner, adhering to established protocols and standards. The specialty areas include Chemistry, Hematology, Urinalysis, Coagulation, Blood Bank, and Microbiology. Additionally, this position may involve supervising general operations and assisting in the training of new staff members.
Experience: A minimum of 1 year of experience in a clinical laboratory setting as a Medical Technologist, with compliance to the regulatory CLIA testing personnel standards.
Educational Requirements: A Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology or a related discipline is required.
Licenses and Certifications: Preferred certifications include ASCP/ASMT/NCA/HHS/ASPT; candidates should be board-eligible for MT certification.
Essential Skills: Candidates must possess excellent customer service abilities, along with proficient computer, mathematical, verbal, reasoning, and written communication skills at a collegiate level. Proficiency in instrumentation and manual dexterity is essential, typically developed during the training phase.
Work Schedule: The position requires a commitment of 80 bi-weekly hours, with a schedule from Monday to Friday, 3 PM to 11:30 PM, including every other weekend.
