Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Clinical Documentation Improvement Specialist to join our team at Deborah Heart and Lung Center. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for reviewing inpatient medical records to ensure accurate and complete clinical documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review medical records to identify areas for improvement in clinical documentation
  • Collaborate with physicians, residents, and other healthcare professionals to clarify medical documentation
  • Work closely with coding staff to ensure accurate coding and billing
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve clinical documentation and coding practices

Requirements:

  • Previous CDI experience strongly preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of nursing experience in Med Surg or Critical Care
  • DRG, ICD-10, and coding background
  • Proficient with 3M Coding Software

Education and Certifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred
  • Current NJ Registered Nurse license required
  • CDI Certification preferred

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 80 bi-weekly hours
