Position Overview

Reports To: Director of Physicians Clinic, Clinic Nurse Coordinator & Vice President of Patient Services

Status: 72-80 hours per two week pay period

Shift: 8:00 am - 5:30 pm
Job Schedule: Full-Time
Weekly Hours: hours

Role Summary

The RN/LPN/MA is responsible for delivering professional nursing care to patients in the clinic, adhering to established standards and practices while maintaining confidentiality. This role involves assisting physicians with procedures, ensuring quality, efficient, and compassionate care for all patients. Key responsibilities include performing triage for walk-in and telephonic patients, administering immunizations, and providing direct nursing care based on well-defined nursing diagnoses. The RN/LPN/MA serves as a communication link for patients and coordinates care with the healthcare team, organizing nursing responsibilities within a designated timeframe.

Qualifications

  • Must hold a valid license to practice as an RN, LPN, or MA in the state of South Dakota.
  • Prior experience in a clinic setting as an RN/LPN/MA is required.
  • Following a formal orientation, proficiency in the assigned clinical area is expected within six months.
  • CPR certification is mandatory.
  • Requires strong social sensitivity and interpersonal skills for effective communication with patients and healthcare professionals.

Work Environment

  • Involves frequent walking, standing, sitting, bending, reaching, and moderate lifting (up to 50 pounds occasionally, 20 pounds frequently, or 10 pounds constantly).
  • Potential exposure to communicable or infectious diseases.
  • Compliance with nursing care standards is essential for continued employment.
  • Work is performed in an indoor environment, with protection from weather but not necessarily from temperature changes, and may involve exposure to various atmospheric conditions.
