Safety and Security Specialist

90% FTE, day/evening shift; 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM. Three 12-hour shifts weekly, with a rotation every other weekend. Hours may fluctuate based on departmental operational needs.
Compensation:
Eligible for a sign-on bonus of up to $2700 (pro-rated based on FTE).
For evening/night shifts after 6:00 PM, an additional $3.00/hr will be earned.
On weekends, an extra $2.25/hr will be provided.

Play a vital role in ensuring the safety of patients, visitors, and staff at a leading healthcare institution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct patrols of the facility, assisting visitors and responding to emergencies and disturbances.
- Engage with law enforcement, patients, visitors, and staff regarding security and safety matters.
- Accurately document daily activities and prepare detailed incident reports using computer software.
- Oversee and manage access control systems, security cameras, intercoms, two-way radios, telephones, and alarm systems.

Qualifications:
Education:
Minimum – High School Diploma or equivalent.
Preferred – Associate Degree or progress towards a degree in criminal justice or a Bachelor's Degree in any other field.
Experience:
Minimum – One (1) year of relevant experience or appropriate educational background. Preferred – Experience in healthcare security, corporate security, or law enforcement.
Licenses and Certifications:
Minimum – Valid Driver's License and completion of IAHSS Basic Certification within six months of hire.
Must be insurable by the Hospital's risk management insurer, which requires (1) a valid Wisconsin Driver's License, (2) passing a driving background check, and (3) being at least 21 years of age.
