This position is responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to patients at the Great Plains Tribal Leaders Health Board Inc. (GPTLHB) clinic. The successful candidate will work closely with the healthcare team to deliver exceptional patient care and support services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide patient care: Obtain initial screening history, perform visual assessments, and provide nursing interventions as needed.
- Collaborate with healthcare team: Work with medical providers, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
- Document patient information: Accurately record patient observations, nursing interventions, and treatment plans in the electronic health record.
- Communicate with patients and families: Provide education and support to patients and their families, ensuring they understand their treatment plans and care options.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives: Contribute to quality assurance activities, such as peer review, infection control, and patient satisfaction surveys.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism: Adhere to GPTLHB policies and procedures, maintaining patient confidentiality and upholding professional standards.
Requirements:
- Education and licensure: Graduate of an accredited nursing program and licensed as a Licensed Practical Nurse by any US state or territory.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification: Required or must be obtained within 90 days of employment.
- Background check and pre-employment drug screen: Must pass a criminal and background check and a pre-employment drug screen.
Working Conditions:
The work environment is typically moderate, with occasional exposure to infection control and environmental safety measures. The employee is regularly required to stand and sit, talk, and hear, and occasionally required to walk and stoop, kneel, or crouch.
