Housing Specialist Job Description

About the Role:

Young Community Developers is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Housing Specialist to join our team in San Francisco. As a Housing Specialist, you will play a critical role in providing housing services to vulnerable populations in the community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage with landlords to secure housing opportunities for clients
  • Provide housing counseling, application assistance, and advocacy to clients
  • Collaborate with internal departments to market and promote the program
  • Process rental assistance applications and maintain detailed case records
  • Ensure compliance with agency, funder, and governmental reporting requirements

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in housing services
  • Excellent cross-cultural communication skills and ability to work with diverse clientele
  • Ability to think critically and problem-solve
