We are seeking a skilled Diagnostic Imaging Technologist to join our team at The University of Chicago Medicine. As a key member of our imaging department, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic imaging studies, applying principles of radiation protection, and exercising professional judgment in the performance of imaging procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Perform imaging duties as assigned, including positioning patients to ensure proper image capture and selecting proper technical factors.
- Utilize computer systems to record patient status and function proficiently with all technical equipment in diagnostic modalities.
- Assist physicians in performing imaging studies, prepare contrast media for administration to patients, and maintain technical imaging equipment to ensure proper working condition.
- Report malfunctioning equipment or housekeeping issues to appropriate personnel and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Ensure adequate inventory of necessary supplies and maintain current registry by ARRT within 12 months of hire date.
- Satisfactory completion of formal Radiology technology training in an AMA-approved school.
- Effective communication skills and excellent patient care skills required.
- Current registry by ARRT within 12 months of hire date.
- Advanced CT certification required (open to new graduates).
- Licensure by the State of Illinois (IEMA) and CPR training required.
This is a full-time position with a variety of shift options, including day, evening, and night shifts. The ideal candidate will be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and demonstrate excellent communication and teamwork skills.
