Radiology Technologist, Full-Time, Nights, Adults

We are seeking a highly skilled Radiology Technologist to join our team in the General Procedures Department at The University of Chicago Medicine. As a Radiology Technologist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality diagnostic imaging services to our patients.
Key Responsibilities- Perform diagnostic imaging studies with precision and accuracy, utilizing appropriate principles of radiation protection and exercising professional judgment in the performance of imaging procedures.
- Review physician's orders to ensure appropriateness of examinations and select optimal exposure factors based on body part, pathology, patient age, and technical equipment characteristics.
- Review images for proper positioning, technique, and identification, and evaluate images for diagnostic quality prior to submitting for interpretation.
- Prepare contrast media for administration to patients and assist physicians in the performance of GI/GU studies.
- Interface with customers, patients, and their family members, medical staff, and visitors in a friendly, professional manner, demonstrating consistent use of the AIDET principles and flexibility in accommodating special needs.
- Associates degree in a related medical field of study or equivalent experience.
- Satisfactory completion of formal Radiologic technology training in an AMA-approved program.
- Certified by The American Registry of Radiological Technologists.
- Licensed by the Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA).
- Demonstrates proficiency in performing diagnostic imaging and functions proficiently with all technical equipment in diagnostic modality.
- Demonstrates excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, good decision-making and judgment skills, and maintains required continuing education as mandated by The American Registry of Radiological Technologists.
- Considerable knowledge of standard office practices and procedures along with knowledge of computers and software programs specific to The University of Chicago Medicine and the radiology department.
- CPR certification.
This is a full-time position working nights in the General Procedures Department. The ideal candidate will be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and demonstrate a commitment to providing exceptional patient care.
