Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Supervisor-Perinatal, Risk and Quality Labor and Delivery to join our team at NYU Langone Hospital - Brooklyn. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality of nursing care and unit management on a 24/7 basis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional leadership and guidance to staff, fostering a positive and supportive work environment that promotes patient satisfaction and staff engagement.
  • Develop and implement effective strategies to improve patient safety and quality, adhering to the National Patient Safety Goals.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure seamless communication and coordination of patient care.
  • Administer medication and parenteral therapy in accordance with policy and procedure, ensuring accurate and timely documentation.
  • Establish priorities for patient care delivery, utilizing critical thinking skills to coordinate and complete patient care responsibilities independently or by delegating appropriately.
  • Provide patient and family education, assisting in discharge planning and utilizing resources to address barriers and alternatives.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide nursing care based on physical, psychosocial, educational, safety, and age-related criteria pertinent to the patients served in the assigned area.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree required; Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) preferred.
  • 3-5 years of nursing experience, with at least one year in a related clinical area.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability, including written and oral communication skills, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to devote the time required to complete assigned tasks on schedule.
  • New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license and registration.
