Vehicle Refinishing Specialist

Tilleman Motor Company is seeking a dedicated and skilled professional with expertise in utilizing spray equipment and effectively masking areas to join our team. This role involves restoring damaged vehicle body parts and surfaces to meet both factory and dealership quality standards and timelines. This is a full-time position, operating Monday through Friday, with compensation based on experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Safely and effectively operates all body shop machinery and tools.
  • Removes rust, grease, and dirt from surfaces prior to refinishing.
  • Accurately masks and protects areas not intended for painting.
  • Fills dents and imperfections with appropriate materials to achieve a smooth finish.
  • Prepares paint mixtures according to established specifications.
  • Selects and combines coatings to achieve the desired color and finish.
  • Applies paint using spray equipment or brushes as necessary.
  • Conducts quality inspections on painted surfaces, identifying any imperfections.
  • Applies protective wax coatings after testing is completed.
  • Maintains tools and equipment in a clean and functional state.
  • Ensures a tidy work environment.
  • Adheres to all safety protocols and utilizes personal protective equipment as recommended.
  • Complies with all relevant regulations regarding hazardous materials and reports any issues to management.
  • Collaborates with team members in vehicle repair and preparation tasks.
  • Stays informed about and complies with all applicable regulations affecting body shop operations.
  • Performs additional tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Possession of personal tools is required.
  • Applicants must be at least 18 years old.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
  • Must pass a drug test, background check, and driving record evaluation.
Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills are essential. Candidates should thrive in a high-performance, fast-paced team setting and demonstrate adaptability in a dynamic work environment. Excellent problem-solving abilities and a customer-focused mindset are critical.
