Important Note:
This is a part-time, non-benefited faculty role. Adjunct contracts are typically for one semester.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver instruction in Italian language classes.
Ensure adherence to all course instruction guidelines, which include course preparation, assessments, grading, records management, and submission of the course syllabus.
Evaluate assignments and exams promptly based on provided instructions/rubrics.Address student inquiries within a 24-hour timeframe.
Submit final grades in accordance with College/Department policies.
Course Details:
ITAL 201 Intermediate Italian I Semester course; 3 lecture hours
Credits and Prerequisites:
3 credits Prerequisite: ITAL 102 or a satisfactory score on the VCU Language Placement Test within the one-year period preceding the course.
The course will be conducted in Italian, focusing on developing intermediate-level cultural competence and proficiency in listening, speaking, reading, and writing through authentic materials.Required Qualifications:
EDUCATION:
Master's degree in Italian or a related discipline.
COMPETENCIES:
EXPERIENCE:
Proven teaching experience at the university level. Demonstrated proficiency in utilizing modern instructional technology. Experience in teaching through online formats.
Experience in promoting and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or a commitment to do so as a faculty member.
Preferred Qualifications:
Ph.D. or other terminal degree in Italian or a related field is highly preferred.
