Job Description

The Sales Development Manager will be responsible for maintaining existing accounts through personal visits and follow-up on a systematic basis, with some travel required. This role requires a strong ability to build relationships with customers and identify opportunities for growth.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three years of sales support, sales, customer service or business experience, preferably in the foodservice industry or related field. A proven track record of developing and maintaining customer relations is essential.

The Sales Development Manager will also be responsible for:

  • Maintaining a profile on all accounts to include order guides, statements, periodicals, and overall reporting
  • Verifying pricing information and forecasts to ensure correctness
  • Maintaining daily communication with operational and purchasing personnel to ensure optimum service to accounts
  • Reviewing all accounts to ensure program compliance, developing unique sales approaches, identifying needs, and expanding sales
  • Responsible for communication and management of forecast inventories with respective customers
  • Developing relationships with existing and potential accounts through personal visits and meetings
  • Managing product mix to maximize branded goals, coordinating introduction of products through stocking agreements, and following up and confirming receipt of products
  • Communicating with customers to apprise them of mutual performance, new products, programs, and market trends, achieving customer satisfaction through constant communication
  • Managing proprietary inventory needs, identifying delivery requirements, and tracking operational service levels
  • Conducting weekly and monthly reviews with the Credit Department to ensure accounts are within terms

This role requires excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as customer service and presentation abilities. The ideal candidate should also have demonstrated problem-solving ability and negotiation skills, with a working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.

Estimated Salary: $60,000 - $85,000 per year, depending on relevant experience and education. Annual incentive plan bonus available.
