Position Summary:
Aquagenix/DeAngelo Contracting Services (DCS) is seeking a qualified Licensed Aquatic Pesticide Technician to join our team. In this role, you will utilize your skills and expertise to enhance the beauty of the environment while adhering to our company's values and principles. The ideal candidate will possess excellent customer service skills, strong mathematical abilities, and meticulous attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate a fundamental understanding of various weed, grass, and brush types.
  • Possess comprehensive knowledge of chemicals utilized, their control mechanisms, and safety protocols.
  • Apply treatments for algae, submerged and floating weeds, shoreline weeds, and other undesirable vegetation to maintain aquatic areas.
  • Manage the treatment and control of invasive plants in commercial and industrial sites, as well as in lakes and ponds.
  • Perform additional tasks such as cattail removal, water testing, fish stocking, and maintenance of fountains and aerators.
  • Conduct inspections of equipment and vehicles, ensuring proper functionality.
  • Calibrate all spray equipment accurately.
  • Assist with daily routing, scheduling, and tank mixing operations.
  • Maintain cleanliness and care of the work truck and equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with safety guidelines during all operations.

Technical Skills:
Applicants should have a solid understanding of application methods and equipment, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with clients. Familiarity with outdoor working conditions is essential.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required; a degree in a related field is preferred.
  • Must be at least 21 years old and possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • A commercial pesticide applicator's license for aquatic vegetation management is required.
  • 2-4 years of experience in aquatic vegetation management is necessary.
  • Swimming ability and comfort in water environments are essential.
  • Experience with electrical troubleshooting is advantageous.
  • Bilingual candidates are preferred.
