Children's Librarian

We are seeking a highly skilled and enthusiastic Youth Services Librarian to join our team at the Cincinnati & Hamilton County Public Library. As a key member of our youth services department, you will be responsible for creating and implementing engaging programs for children and young adults, as well as maintaining a comprehensive collection of youth materials.
Key Responsibilities- Program Development and Implementation: Plan and conduct programs for children and young adults to promote literacy, learning, and a love of reading.
- Collection Development: Maintain a diverse and engaging collection of youth materials, including books, audiobooks, and digital resources.
- Reader's Advisory Services: Provide personalized reading recommendations to children and young adults, helping them discover new authors and genres.
- Community Outreach: Collaborate with local schools, community organizations, and other stakeholders to promote the library's youth services and programs.
- Staff Supervision: Supervise and train library staff in youth services, ensuring they have the skills and knowledge to provide excellent service to children and young adults.
- Master's Degree in Library Science: A Master's degree in Library Science from an ALA-accredited library school is required.
- Experience Working with Youth: 1-2 years of experience working with children and young adults is preferred.
- Strong Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential for this role, as you will be working with children, young adults, and library staff.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in library software and technology, including online catalogs and digital resources.
