Job Summary

The Cincinnati & Hamilton County Public Library is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Youth Librarian to join our team. As a key member of our youth services department, you will be responsible for creating and implementing engaging programs for children and young adults, as well as providing reader advisory services and maintaining the youth collection.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement programs for youth to promote literacy and a love of reading
  • Provide reader advisory services to children and young adults, including book recommendations and research assistance
  • Maintain the youth collection, including weeding and cataloging
  • Assist customers with technology, including computers, tablets, and e-readers
  • Participate in outreach programming and community events to promote the library and its services
  • Collaborate with other library staff to develop and implement programs and services for children and young adults
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Library Science from an ALA-accredited library school
  • 1-2 years of experience working with youth in a library setting
  • Strong knowledge of children's literature and youth services
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
Working Conditions

This is a full-time position, 40 hours per week, with a salary range of $46,945.60-$57,512.00 annually, based on experience level.
