Job Overview
Electricenergyonline is in search of a Welding Engineer to join our team, focusing on the Welding Program to support operational excellence.
This role encompasses a variety of responsibilities aimed at enhancing the effectiveness of the welding operations.
The selected candidate will also provide expert guidance to external consultants, vendors, and internal teams to address welding-related challenges.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Identify and resolve welding engineering challenges promptly and accurately.
- Take initiative in tackling complex welding engineering tasks while managing associated risks.
- Communicate technical information effectively across various levels and departments.
- Engage in industry collaborations to discover and implement advanced welding techniques.
- Review and update program procedures to integrate improvement initiatives and ensure compliance with relevant standards.
- Deliver training to site personnel on program requirements and compliance standards.
- Support site teams and contractors in welding program activities.
- Prepare and review work packages to confirm completeness and accuracy.
- Develop and validate welding procedures and parameters.
- Oversee the preparation and approval of weld records and compliance plans.
- Provide support for outages and urgent operational challenges, including potential shift work.
- Assist in audit inspections and ensure adherence to regulatory guidelines.
- Mentor junior staff and participate in training initiatives.
- Engage in emergency response activities as assigned.
- Perform additional duties as directed by management.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
The following qualifications are necessary for various engineering levels:
- Engineer I: Requires a Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
- Engineer II: Requires a Bachelor’s degree in engineering plus two years of relevant experience or a Master’s degree in engineering.
- Staff Engineer: Requires a Bachelor’s degree in engineering with four years of relevant experience or a Master’s degree with two years of experience.
- Senior Engineer: Requires a Bachelor’s degree in engineering with eight years of relevant experience or a Master’s degree with six years of experience.
- Lead Engineer: Requires a Bachelor’s degree in engineering with twelve years of relevant experience or a Master’s degree with ten years of experience.
All educational programs must be accredited by the appropriate boards. Relevant experience is defined as professional-level work in engineering or nuclear operations.
