Job Description

At General Mills, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Mergers and Acquisitions to join our team. As a key member of our Corporate Development team, you will be responsible for identifying, evaluating, and executing strategic transactions that drive growth and value for our company.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with Corporate Strategy and business segments to identify and prioritize M&A transactions that align with our enterprise strategy and growth objectives.
  • Develop a deep understanding of business segment needs to provide personalized assistance and exceptional service throughout the sale, acquisition, and/or partnership process.
  • Lead due diligence and partner with business segments and cross-functional leaders to identify and assess risks and opportunities of proposed transactions.
  • Develop and present comprehensive financial models and valuations to support M&A and partnership strategy to the Board of Directors, senior leadership, and other internal stakeholders.
  • Participate in legal negotiations and lead business point resolution regarding transaction-related contracts with in-house and external counsel.
  • Monitor the M&A environment and assess implications for General Mills.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or related field.
  • At least 10 years of relevant experience, ideally including employment in both a professional services firm and a corporate environment.
  • Experience working in a large, complex, global organization, where working across boundaries and leading through influence are keys to success.
  • Ability to operate independently in a fast-paced environment and exercise strategic thinking aptitude.
  • Excellent communicator, both oral and written.
  • Highly analytical, logical, structured problem solver.
Preferred Qualifications
  • MBA from a top-tier business school.
  • Experience in the consumer foods industry, ideal but not mandatory.
  • Experience working across geographies and with a deal landscape in multiple markets.
