Job Description

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Turbine Rigger to join our team at Westinghouse Electric Company. As a Turbine Rigger, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient installation, maintenance, and repair of industrial equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess and size up loads to determine the most effective rigging plan.
  • Assemble and operate rigging equipment, including slings, chokers, cables, and come-a-longs.
  • Load, transport, and unload equipment and materials, ensuring safe handling and storage.
  • Collaborate with crane operators and hoisting engineers to ensure safe and efficient lifting and moving of loads.
  • Set up and operate hoisting equipment, including pulleys, blocks, and winches.
  • Perform daily inspections of equipment and tools to ensure they are in good working condition.
  • Participate in pre-job briefings and provide clear hand signals to crane operators.
  • Coordinate the movement of hands and feet according to visual signals and directions.

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Three years of experience in industrial rigging, with a focus on turbine installation and maintenance.
  • NCCER Certification or equivalent qualification in Nuclear or Fossil.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in either Nuclear or Fossil or both.
  • Ability to tie various knots and perform daily inspections of equipment and tools.
