Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Food Prep Attendant to join our team at The Club lounge in Chicago Midway International Airport. As a Food Prep Attendant, you will be responsible for preparing food for our customers and maintaining a clean and healthy environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare food according to customers' orders or instructions of superior, following approved procedures.
  • Clean and portion, and cut or peel various foods to prepare for cooking or serving.
  • Portion and arrange food on serving dishes, trays, carts, or conveyor belts.
  • Clean, cut, slice, or disjoints meats and poultry to prepare for cooking.
  • Prepare and serve a variety of beverages, such as coffee, tea, and soft drinks.
  • Carry food supplies, equipment, and utensils to and from storage and work areas.
  • Store food in designated containers and storage areas to prevent spoilage, following FIFO (first in, first out) method.
  • Sets up and restocks buffet area.
  • Assists with inventory counts.
  • Cleans and maintains work areas, equipment, and utensils.
  • Requisitions, stores, and distributes food supplies, equipment, and utensils.
  • Date and label prepared food.
  • Completes food safety logs.
  • Washes dishes.
  • Assists with cleaning tasks throughout the lounge.
  • Assists with the removal of trash throughout lounge, taking to designated disposal areas.
Requirements
  • Ability to successfully pass airport authority security background check.
  • High school diploma or GED is preferred.
  • Related background in customer service or restaurant/bar service.
  • Must be at least 18 or 21 years of age as applicable by law.
  • Must be able to handle multiple tasks and possess verbal communication skills necessary to communicate with customers, passengers, and co-workers.
  • Able to work rotating shifts including weekends (i.e. Friday, Saturday and Sunday), holidays and days off.
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language.
