Position Overview
The ideal candidate will exhibit self-motivation and accountability, functioning with minimal oversight. Strong communication and interpersonal abilities are essential, along with a passion for engaging with the public, primarily in an outdoor environment. This role requires a collaborative spirit and the readiness to assist colleagues as necessary. Given the public-facing nature of this position, adaptability is crucial. Participation in departmental events is expected, with the necessity to modify schedules for adequate coverage; a minimum of two weeks' notice will be provided for any permanent schedule adjustments. Availability for weekends, evenings, and holidays is required.
Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Facilitating event parking in the designated parking structure, serving as the primary contact, managing sales, and demonstrating proficiency in cash handling.
- Communicating effectively about campus information, including parking regulations and locations, to students, staff, faculty, and visitors.
- Issuing parking validations to visitors.
- Providing traffic management as needed.
- Offering conflict resolution support to visitors and staff regarding parking, traffic, or other related concerns encountered on campus.
- Assisting with special event parking, traffic management, and crowd control activities.
Conditions of Employment
- Compliance with the University's influenza vaccination requirement is mandatory for employees working in patient care or clinical areas.
- All regular, non-temporary positions within this classification are represented by a labor union and are subject to the terms and conditions of the CWA Collective Bargaining Agreement.
A high school diploma or GED is required, along with a minimum of six months of relevant experience.
Higher education credentials from an accredited institution exceeding the minimum educational requirement may be considered as a substitute for experience on a year-for-year basis.
