Key Responsibilities

The following duties are expected at the GS-13 level. If selected at a lower grade, you will receive training to perform these tasks:
  • Design and execute comprehensive statistical studies for Debt Management programs and structured credit issues, employing industry best practices in financial modeling.
  • Lead analytical studies focused on structured credit and Treasury-related markets.
  • Address inquiries from Congressional staff and oversee the creation of ad hoc reports for Congressional requests, testimonies, and academic studies.
  • Provide technical support and guidance in conducting special analyses related to Debt Management program activities.

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. National.
  • A one-year probationary period may be required.
  • Successful completion of a background investigation is mandatory.
  • Public Trust - Background Investigation will be required.
  • Compliance with federal ethics laws is required.
  • Direct Deposit/Electronic Funds Transfer for salary is mandatory.
Qualifications

Applicants must meet the following qualifications by the closing date of this announcement.

Specialized Experience for the GS-13 level: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level in the Federal service, including experience in at least three of the following areas:
  • Analyzing financial markets, including fixed income, FX, or derivatives markets.
  • Managing large datasets and building databases.
  • Conducting statistical studies on financial market data using quantitative techniques.
  • Providing technical guidance on quantitative methods for financial market analysis.
  • Experience with sovereign or corporate debt issuance, central bank operations, or financial risk analysis.
Specialized Experience for the GS-12 level: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level in the Federal service, including experience in at least two of the areas listed above.
