Dental Hygiene Support Specialist

About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Dental Hygiene Assistant to join our team at Carolina Smiles. As a key member of our dental hygiene team, you will play a vital role in ensuring our patients receive optimal care and support during their visits.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist dental hygienists during patient appointments, providing exceptional chairside support and ensuring a smooth and efficient experience for our patients.
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and setting up necessary materials, maintaining a clean and organized environment.
- Greet and prepare patients for hygiene treatment, providing a warm and welcoming experience.
- Maintain accurate patient records and update charts, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration with our dental team.
- Manage the flow of patients in the hygiene department, prioritizing efficiency and productivity while maintaining a high level of patient satisfaction.
- Perform suctioning, rinsing, and other chairside assistance as required, demonstrating a strong commitment to patient care and comfort.
- Ensure all instruments and equipment are properly cleaned and maintained, adhering to strict infection control protocols and office policies.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, empowering them to take an active role in their oral health.
- Adhere to all infection control protocols and office policies, upholding the highest standards of patient safety and care.
- Assist with administrative tasks, including scheduling and patient follow-ups as needed, demonstrating a strong ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Coronal Polishing and radiation certification required.
- Previous dental assisting experience or certification preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate.
- Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Positive attitude and a team-oriented mindset, with a strong commitment to patient care and satisfaction.
- Dentrix experience preferred, but not required.
