Responsibilities
The Clinical Transition Educator plays a vital role in providing ongoing educational support, training, and mentorship to newly hired nurses within the clinical environment. This position is essential for ensuring a seamless transition into practice by offering unit-specific support and coordinating the necessary resources for each new nurse throughout their orientation period.
The Clinical Transition Educator acts as a liaison between educational and clinical management, facilitating timely evaluations of new nurses' needs and performance. By identifying specific areas for improvement, this role enables targeted training and resource allocation to address knowledge and skill gaps effectively. This tailored approach not only supports the professional development of new nurses but also enhances overall patient care outcomes.
Qualifications
Education, Experience, and Training:
1. A current and valid Registered Nurse license issued by the State is required.
2. A valid BLS (ARC or AHA) certification is necessary upon hire and must be maintained.
3. A minimum of 2 years of acute care experience in Behavioral Health is required.
4. At least 1 year of experience as a preceptor is essential.
5. A BSN is preferred.
