We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Trust Officer to join our team at Zia Trust, Inc. in Phoenix. As a Trust Officer, you will be responsible for providing trust account administration and management for various personal, family, and trust investment accounts.

Our ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of fiduciary principles and trust administration practices, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills. They will be able to work autonomously and collaboratively with internal and external partners to ensure the smooth administration of trust accounts.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of managing complex trusts, including revocable and irrevocable, testamentary, charitable, directed, special needs, court settlement, and closely held businesses. They will also have experience with trust accounting systems and be able to monitor account transactions and information.

Key responsibilities of the Trust Officer will include:

  • Managing and administering a variety of trusts, including revocable and irrevocable, testamentary, charitable, directed, special needs, court settlement, and closely held businesses.
  • Determining responsibilities, duties, and terms of the governing trust document and administering the trust accordingly.
  • Initiating and monitoring account activity, ensuring compliance with established policies, procedures, and applicable laws, rules, and regulations.
  • Monitoring the accuracy of account transactions and information in the trust accounting system and working closely with the Operations Department to ensure accuracy.
  • Arranging for the appraisal of real property, evaluation, transfer, and protection of trust assets.
  • Interacting professionally and with a high degree of follow-up with clients, beneficiaries, portfolio managers, attorneys, CPAs, and other trust professionals regarding accounts.
  • Initiating contacts to market trust services and achieving marketing targets.
  • Actively managing account fiduciary risk by performing account reviews, operating in an unbiased manner within the trust provisions, and other fiduciary activities.
  • Leading performance planning and reviews for assigned team members.
