Job Summary

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop reliable, high-quality software for medical devices, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive software requirements and integrate with system requirements.
  • Participate in software project risk analysis and hazard analysis, ensuring the highest level of quality and safety.
  • Develop and maintain software project documents, including software development plans and detailed software design documents.
  • Utilize software engineering best practices, such as unit testing, integration testing, and code reviews.
  • Work cooperatively with the software group and across disciplines to deliver projects on-time and on-budget.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or related discipline (Master's degree preferred).
  • 10 or more years of relevant experience developing software for complex medical instruments or devices.
  • Demonstrated experience in object-oriented design methodology and programming languages, primarily C# and C++.
  • Understanding of revision control systems and issue tracking systems.
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment, with strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Able to work on multiple projects simultaneously, with good organizational and multi-tasking skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with medical device regulatory standards, such as 21 CFR Part 11, IEC, and ISO.
  • Experience with software configuration tools, such as CVS, SVN, PerForce, and issue tracking systems, such as Mantis and Jira.
  • Leadership skills and experience as a SW Team Leader.
  • Experience working directly with customers and MS Project skills.
