Job Summary

A Stationary Engineer is needed to join our team at Insight Global. As a key member of the Power Plant team, the successful candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining high-pressure boilers, large centrifugal chillers, and auxiliary equipment. This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to work in a hot environment.

Key Responsibilities

* Operate and maintain high-pressure boilers, large centrifugal chillers, and auxiliary equipment in a central power plant environment.
* Perform routine maintenance, lubrication, and cleaning of plant equipment on a regular basis.
* Test boiler and cooling tower water condition and add chemical treatment to maintain proper limits and prevent deposits or corrosion.
* Check boiler safety and shut down equipment as needed.
* Disassemble, inspect, reassemble, and clean equipment as required.
* Understand and become proficient in the operation and use of all plant software packages.
* Make rounds and keep equipment and plant logs up to date.
* Monitor and log fuel oil and gas consumption.
* Take and log fuel oil tank levels during fuel oil burning operations.
* Attend staff meetings, training seminars, and in-service plant equipment training sessions as scheduled.
* Perform other functions and duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

* High School Diploma or equivalent.
* Must possess State of Maryland 1st Grade Stationary Engineer's License.
* Five years of experience working in a central power plant with high-pressure boilers, large centrifugal chillers, and auxiliary equipment.
* Basic computer skills desired.
* Must be willing to work overtime and rotating shift work.
* Must have a valid driver's license.
* Mechanical aptitude and the ability to perform physical work in a hot environment.
