Position Overview:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer and coordinate activities related to the design and execution of complex and high-profile construction and modernization projects under the mentorship of a senior Project Officer.
  • Ensure adherence to quality standards and compliance in both design and construction by all involved consultants and vendors.
  • Make timely decisions to facilitate the efficient completion of construction processes.
  • Identify and rectify design and construction errors promptly to prevent extensive incorporation into the project.
  • Collaborate with the architect/engineer of record on change orders, contract document interpretations, and shop drawing approvals to ensure structural integrity and compliance with codes.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of project procedures and policies; review and recommend improvements to company-wide policies.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with contractors, construction managers, and school personnel regarding project matters; regularly engage with senior management on these issues.
  • Make informed decisions regarding project phasing and scheduling; prepare and oversee schedules for planning, design, and construction phases to ensure timely project completion within budget.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or Architecture is required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in a technical specialist role within construction and design; at least 2 years should involve managing all phases of construction for projects similar in scale to educational facilities.
  • Possession of a valid NYS Driver's License.
  • A satisfactory combination of education and experience is essential.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
