Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Dietary Helper to join our team at Catholic Health Initiatives. As a Dietary Helper, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional food service to our patients and residents. With a focus on quality, safety, and customer satisfaction, you will work closely with our cook and dietary supervisor to ensure seamless operations in the dietary department.

Responsibilities
  • Organize and plan daily activities to complete tasks efficiently and effectively.
  • Recognize and prioritize tasks, completing all assigned duties prior to the end of the shift.
  • Meet established time frames, including start-up times and break times.
  • Work ahead as necessary to accommodate the needs of the cook.
  • Perform duties independently with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrate the ability to handle increased workloads during peak periods.
  • Show a willingness to take on additional tasks or assignments, adjust schedules, and work extra hours when requested.
  • Understand the duties of other comparable positions in the department to ensure coverage in emergency situations.
  • Recognize urgencies in coworkers' workloads and assist in completing assignments where feasible.
  • Plate prepared salads and desserts for service to patients and residents.
  • Ensure all items are plated close to serving times, maintaining optimal quality.
  • Properly handle and hold food, adhering to sanitation guidelines.
  • Stock the employee/guest cafeteria in a timely manner, ensuring accuracy and adherence to sanitation guidelines.
  • Reset trays accurately and in a timely manner.
Qualifications
  • Ability to read and write, follow oral and written instructions, and perform simple mathematics.
  • Experience preferred but not required.

We offer a competitive hourly rate of $15.00 - $19.82, and we are an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer.
