Lifeguard - Pool Safety Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and certified Lifeguard to join our team at YMCA Cape Cod. As a Lifeguard, you will be responsible for maintaining safe swimming conditions in the pool, deck, and surrounding areas, creating a safe and positive atmosphere that promotes member safety and engagement.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain constant surveillance of the pool area to ensure the safety of members and participants.
- Know and review all emergency procedures and respond to emergency situations immediately in accordance with YMCA policies and procedures.
- Maintain effective, positive relationships with members, participants, and other staff.
- Know, understand, and consistently apply safety rules, policies, and guidelines for the pool and aquatic area.
- Maintain accurate records as required by the YMCA and/or the state Health Department code.
- Perform equipment checks and ensure appropriate equipment is available as needed.
- Check the pool for hazardous conditions when arriving.
- Perform chemical testing during non-active guarding at appropriate times of the day, as required, and take appropriate action.
- Perform pool area cleaning as required.
- Maintain required certifications.
- Attend staff meetings and trainings.
- Follow all YMCA policies, rules, regulations, and procedures, including emergency and safety procedures. Complete reports as necessary.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Lifeguard Certification
- CPR and First Aid Certified
