Job Title: Tower Foreman

Thayer Power & Communication Line Construction Co. LLC is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Tower Foreman to join our team. As a key member of our construction crew, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient completion of wireless equipment and antenna installations at elevated heights.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Safety First: Prioritize and adhere to safety protocols, including 100% tie-off, proper methods and procedures, rigging, and daily JHA's.
  • Wireless Equipment Installation: Safely and efficiently complete modifications, repairs, and upgrades of wireless equipment and antennas at elevated heights.
  • Team Leadership: Lead, supervise, and mentor a team of up to 6 members, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Provide detailed daily reports to the Project Manager/Construction Manager and submit daily timesheets for the crew.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Thoroughly understand and adhere to applicable governing body's safety and regulations, as well as Thayer Power & Communication's Safety Policies and Practices.
  • Customer Focus: Work with Project Manager and Construction Manager to meet schedules and budgets, while maintaining a strong focus on customer satisfaction.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Maintain proper use of company vehicles, equipment, and other assigned assets.
  • Project Coordination: Review and/or create Bill of Materials (BOMs) needed for each project site to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Quality Assurance: Maintain a clean, orderly environment, adhering to company policies and industry regulations/standards (OSHA).
  • Testing and Certification: Perform PIM, Sweep, & Fiber testing on site, as well as antenna alignment, and attend vendor and in-house training and participate in certification programs as necessary.
  • Training and Development: Ability and willingness to train team members and participate in company training programs.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Strong Safety Background: 5+ years of tower climbing experience and 2+ years of management/supervisory experience.
  • OSHA 30 Certification: Preferred.
  • Valid Driver's License: Required.
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent: Required.
  • Authorized Tower Climber or Competent Climber and Rescue Certification: Required.
  • Ability to Work at Heights: Ability to work at heights upwards of 300' +.
  • Organizational Skills: Ability to organize and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Industry Experience: Experience installing and maintaining: Cabling, Antennas, Microwave dish, tower builds (NEW/MODS), site inspections, FAA lighting systems, cell carriers.
  • Preferred Carrier Experience: Preferred carrier experience such as Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile/Sprint, US Cellular, Dish.
  • Industry Knowledge: Knowledge of and ability to operate various testing equipment (i.e. RF sweep gear, PIM, 3-Z and fiber testing).
  • PIM/Sweep Certification: Preferred from Anritsu, Kaelus, or like.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Software Proficiency: Proficient in software applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Travel Requirements: Able to travel extensively and work a flexible schedule.
Working Conditions:
  • Physical Demands: Frequently required to walk, crawl, or kneel, use hands or fingers, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb ladders, stairs, or other elevated/fixed structures for extended periods of time.
  • Environmental Conditions: Work in extreme conditions such as high and low temperatures, snow, rain, high winds throughout the year and 4 seasons.
  • Weight Lifting: Lift and/or move a minimum of 50lbs regularly.
  • Safety Equipment: Wear safety equipment as per OSHA/MSHA/ANSI requirements, including but not limited to steel-toed and/or metatarsal shoes, hard hat, required PPE for elevated work, fire retardant clothing, protective eye wear, etc.
