About the Position:

The Surety Risk Consultant plays a pivotal role in the execution of placement and offers specialized knowledge encompassing account management and brokerage services tailored for both new and existing surety clientele. This role necessitates collaboration with internal sales and service teams, alongside clients and vendor partners, to ensure a seamless customer experience that fosters client retention and enduring relationships.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Serve as a coverage authority, delivering technical support to both internal teams and external clients.
  • Partner with client executives and the surety team to ascertain the most effective program design and placement for clients.
  • Oversee marketing initiatives for new accounts, which includes information gathering, outreach to various sureties, and presenting terms and conditions to clients.
  • Collaborate with bond processors and client executives to navigate bond declinations and implement necessary actions.
  • Cultivate relationships with insurance carriers, influential centers, and vendors that are vital to our success and market differentiation, aligning with our mission and core values.
  • Develop educational materials for both internal and external distribution.
  • Assess suitable markets and bond structures for assigned clients and prospects.
  • Support the Claims team in the technical evaluation and interpretation of policies.
  • Market submissions to carriers to secure the most advantageous surety program tailored to client needs.
  • Facilitate bond placements for clients with innovative terms.
  • Provide technical evaluations and interpretations of bonds to assist with claims requirements.
  • Execute additional duties and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience in Surety placements.
  • A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
  • Experience in surety brokering, risk management, underwriting, and consulting is highly desirable.
  • Advanced technical knowledge in surety.
  • Active Property & Casualty insurance licensure.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain robust relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both oral and written, including active listening, speaking, and writing.
  • Willingness and ability to travel by car or airplane for business-related meetings and conferences.
  • Must possess legal authorization to work in the United States.
