- Equipment Maintenance: Ensure that all equipment and instruments are in good working order and functioning properly.
- Instrument Management: Pass instruments to the physician during surgery and continually account for the number and location of instruments and supplies.
- Critical Thinking and Judgment: Utilize critical thinking skills and make decisive judgments to ensure the safe and efficient performance of surgical procedures.
- Education and Certification: Possess a State Surgical Assistant or Surgical Technologist registration and Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider certification.
- Experience: 6 months of Surgical Tech experience or graduation from an accredited Surgical Tech program.
