Job Summary

As a Busbar Product Design Engineer at Interplex, you will be responsible for designing and developing busbar products for our Datacom division.

Main Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with customers to understand their application and technical requirements for busbar products.
  • Design or optimize customer original designs for busbar products, ensuring compliance with technical requirements and delivering high-quality 3D and 2D drawings.
  • Communicate effectively with customers through Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) processes.
  • Assist the costing team in determining the feasibility of busbar projects.
  • Oversee the production of prototypes and ensure timely delivery of qualified products to customers.
  • Support the Quality Assurance team in testing (electrical and mechanical) and troubleshoot production issues with the Manufacturing Engineering and production teams.
  • Minimum Requirements:
    • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (Master's degree preferred).
    • 3-5+ years of experience in busbar product development, with expertise in Rigid busbar, Flexible busbar, Hot Laminated busbar, Insert-molding busbar, and Assembly busbar.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with customers and provide technical recommendations to improve designs and avoid production issues.
    • Familiarity with industry standards for server, rail transit, wind power, solar power, electric vehicle, and other relevant sectors.
    • Knowledge of sheet metal, injection molding, welding, plating, dipping, potting, insulation materials, and relevant safety standards.
    • Proficiency in 3D design software (Creo, SolidWorks, or others) and CAE simulation (Ansys) is preferred.
  • Other working conditions:
    • Travel required occasionally.
    • Overtime may be required.
    • Effective resource allocation and collaboration with colleagues from Tooling Design, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Assurance, Costing, and Sourcing teams.
    • Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
