The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), guided by Washington State licensure and the scope of practice as outlined by the Association of Samaritan Physicians Clinics, is tasked with delivering patient care to assigned individuals under the oversight of clinic medical doctors, physician assistants, or registered nurses. This role involves caring for patients with predictable outcomes and routine needs. The individual will report to the Clinic Nursing Manager and collaborate closely with all departments and staff to ensure quality patient care.

This is a full-time role requiring 40 hours of work per week, with potential weekend shifts.

EXTRA INCENTIVE:

Eligible for a sign-on bonus of up to $7,000, subject to a two-year Hospital Sign-on Advance Agreement. (Applicable to external candidates only.)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (not limited to):

  1. Guide patients to examination rooms; record vital signs, height, weight, and medical history for new obstetric patients.
  2. Coordinate appointment scheduling and communicate test results in partnership with physicians, physician assistants, and advanced registered nurse practitioners.
  3. Utilize established protocols to address patient inquiries effectively.
  4. Provide accurate information to patients based on guidance from physicians and practitioners.
  5. Assist in administering various tests and procedures, including pregnancy tests, blood draws, immunizations, and more.
  6. Support in suture removal, wound care, and basic treatments.
  7. Assist healthcare providers during examinations and procedures, ensuring proper specimen handling.
  8. Manage prescription refills and new orders under the supervision of healthcare providers, maintaining accurate records.
  9. Facilitate communication with external entities such as pharmacies and specialists.
  10. Maintain cleanliness and organization of examination and treatment areas.
  11. Participate in ongoing professional development to stay updated on industry trends.
  12. Adhere to safety protocols to prevent injuries and ensure a secure work environment.
  13. Comply with organizational policies and procedures, as well as labor agreements.
  14. Engage with team members and support groups in a respectful and efficient manner.
  15. Uphold professional standards in appearance and conduct while representing the organization.
  16. Complete additional tasks as assigned by management to meet organizational objectives.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS (not limited to):
  1. Graduation from an accredited Practical Nursing program.
  2. Current Washington State Practical Nurse License.
  3. Current CPR certification at the Healthcare Provider level.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  1. Occasional prolonged standing and walking; lifting and reaching as needed.
  2. Ability to lift/carry a minimum of 25 lbs independently and up to 50+ lbs with assistance.
  3. Intermittent physical exertion during treatment procedures.
  4. Good visual acuity for reading and interpreting information.
  5. Effective communication skills for interaction with healthcare professionals, patients, and families.
