Job Summary:

The Respiratory Care Practitioner III is responsible for providing high-quality respiratory care to patients through assessment, planning, intervention, education, and evaluation. This role requires strong clinical expertise and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide respiratory care services, including oxygen and aerosolized medication delivery, ventilator care, bronchial hygiene therapy, and diagnostic services.
  • Assess patient responses to therapies and make recommendations for changes or modifications.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
  • Provide education and training to patients, families, and healthcare staff on respiratory care and related topics.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures.
Requirements:
  • Graduate of an AMA-approved school for Respiratory Care.
  • Current Respiratory Care License in the state of employment.
  • National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) credentialed.
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications required.
  • Two years of experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist or five years as a Certified Respiratory Therapist, with demonstrated clinical competency in at least two of the following environments: Nursery/NICU, PICU, ICU/CCU, ED, and general care areas.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a related field.
  • Additional certifications, such as Certified Pulmonary Function Technologist (CPFT) or Registered Pulmonary Function Technologist (RPFT), preferred.
  • Experience with electronic health records (EHRs) and other healthcare technology systems.
