Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to join our Admissions team as an Assistant Director of Admissions. This role will be responsible for communicating the benefits of a Skidmore College education to prospective students and their families, as well as managing a recruitment territory and participating in team reading and committee review of application files.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement effective recruitment strategies to attract and engage prospective students and their families
  • Manage a recruitment territory, including travel to high schools, community-based organizations, and other recruitment events
  • Participate in team reading and committee review of application files, providing recommendations for admission and scholarship decisions
  • Independently manage portfolio projects, such as on-campus or virtual programming, outreach to build relationships with various constituents and partners
  • Collaborate with other teams in the Admissions Office to enhance the execution of operations and meet enrollment goals
Qualifications and Skills
  • Ability to work towards big-picture projects and initiatives by coordinating and following through with details and tasks
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse student, family, and professional populations
  • Well-organized, creative, and responsive implementation and coordination of projects and responsibilities
  • Effective planning, coordination, and communication of changes and innovations in process and/or systems
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Adapts to and embraces change and innovation
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of related experience in admissions, higher education, secondary school, non-profit, or related environment preferred
  • Willingness to actively learn about both the college and students' experiences
